2021, what took you so long?

Dog help us, we made it.

Push off, 2020. There’s not much more anyone can say, right? It’s over. We hope you had a good ritual for putting this year to rest, once and for all. Here are a few highlights and bits of stubborn hope that helped us keep our eyes on the road this past year.

Adoption Program. Full steam ahead.

Two out of every three dogs who came into our Adoption Program in 2020 came from families who were facing a financial and/or housing crisis, or Good Samaritans who helped homeless dogs out of a bind. Like so many dogs during the pandemic, they had soft landings. See the video above to enjoy some of those faces again.

Our Keep’Em Home Program saw a more diverse set of clients who needed help to stay committed to their dogs. To lighten our load, we matched helpers with families who needed something as simple as one drop-off of food, or something as busy as ongoing support to see them through. People were incredibly generous with this effort. Just some of the stories from this work.

Spay/neuter and emergency vetcare needs for dogs owned by families in crisis kept us hopping in 2020. We’re especially grateful to the staff of Well Pet Vet Clinic, Noble Vet Clinic, Plaza Veterinary Hospital, Silverado Pet Hospital, and VCA Bay Area Pet Hospital for helping us help so many.

Energy independence. 2020 was the year we went fully solar at the Barn. Look!

Finally, the brand new Nut Truck.

ntOur updated spay/neuter van. Built from scratch over the past several months. We’re chewing at the bit to get out in the field again. With the best luck, it looks like we’ll be rolling out in the spring, or as soon as our team receives their Covid-19 vaccines.

Thank you for all your incredible support. Wishing you some good rest and of course, HEALTH, as we all charge our internal batteries for the days, weeks and months ahead.
