Babe – A MFT's Helper

Babe’s adopter is a marriage and family therapist (MFT) and wanted a special dog who could hold the space when clients were having a tough session or just needed a little emotional TLC. She told us that she’d never owned a dog before so was a bit nervous, but was hoping we might have a good fit for her.

Babe had recently come to us from Contra Costa Animal Services. She was a special girl; full of heart and affection and a good sense of humor. And those eyes! As a mama dog, she had an extra dose of empathy and patience. And as a dog with a difficult background, she seemed especially grateful for any kindness she received.

We introduced them both and it was kismet. This particular adoption gave us an extra blast of smiles.
