Build it and they will come

We ‘met’ her owner on Craigslist when he’d listed a litter of pups for sale.

“Do you want a spay for the mom and neuter for dad?” we asked. “It’s free, this weekend.”

The response was short and sweet: “Yes.”

A few days later, an email from him: “Can you do a teenage male from her last litter, too?”

While there are several places in the SF Bay Area that offer free and low cost spay/neuter surgeries, the wait can create obstacles including a change of mind for people on the fence. Craigslist puppy sale ads continue to be one of our best ways of finding and connecting with many of those homes. Build it and they will come.
