A Holiday miracle for everyone

Dixie’s family requested euthanasia when emergency surgery for Pyometra added up to 3x more than what they could afford. The vet staff asked if we might rescue her so they didn’t have to PTS. We had a different idea. “She’s the perfect candidate for our Rainy Day fund. Let’s work together to keep her in her home instead.”

The family had to be convinced that financial help was available; They’d already given up and resigned themselves to the worst outcome. But staff did a beautiful job counseling them, so they contributed what they could afford, we sponsored the rest and Dixie was saved.

Happily, the three kids in the family were able to welcome their dog back home for the holidays. We want kids to believe in little miracles, so this win was super gratifying. Big thanks to vet clinic staffer Laila, who didn’t give up either. You made it happen.
