To Report A Special Dog to BAD RAP: Sadly, we have to tell you upfront that we probably won't be able help you with your found dog. We're a small group working in the middle of a huge pit bull overpopulation crisis, and we receive dozens of requests for help each week. It's truly heartbreaking. We do however review found dog inquiries for those few occasions when we have a rare opening in our program. Thank you for your efforts. We know how hard this process can be for the Good Samaritans like you who care so much!If you've found a dog that you'd like us to know about please provide the following information in your email inquiry: 1. Dog's age, condition (healthy? neutered?), and any noted behavior with other animals and people (friendly? trained?)2. A digital photo and/or video footage is incredibly helpful. Inquiries with photos receive faster replies. 3. Info on the current status of the dog and, if you still have him, how long you can keep him? 4. How did you find the dog? How long have you had him in your care? Important: What have you done to locate this dog's owner(s)? 5. Are you willing to bring the dog to Berkeley or Oakland for an evaluation? 6. Your name, city and phone number(s). NOTE: We consider individual cases based on our
current available resources and whether or not the dog's temperament fits our
criteria. Preference is given to
full breed pit bulls over mixed-breed pit bulls. Some degree of animal intolerance is acceptable, but only if the dog is highly people-focused. Pit bulls
that show temperament faults cannot be considered, but will be referred to the professionals on
our Resource Page. Send
email inquiries to: Found Dog
