Flower - PTSD Service Dog: Adopted

Flower - PTSD Service Dog

Flower joined our training classes just after being adopted from Berkeley Animal Care Services by Petite and Antone. They had an important reason for getting her trained: She was adopted to serve as a a PTSD service dog for Antone, who is a Vietnam combat veteran. Dogs in this role can literally change the life of veterans by helping them cope successfully with the symptoms of PTSD, including depression, nightmares and social anxiety.

As a service dog who's been specifically trained for her job, Flower's work is recognized by federal law and supported through the American Disabilities Act (ADA). She's allowed to accompany Antone to all businesses open to the public, including restaurants, hotels, taxis, stores, hospitals and medical offices, theaters, etc., as they moves about their day. Full time support.

We adore this family as much as we love their dog and look forward to seeing their bond deepen each week.
